Historic St. Mary's City is excited to announce a change of command ceremony for the new MARYLAND DOVE captain, Angela Laaro, on Saturday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. To ensure the proper setup for this significant event, the HSMC waterfront will be closed on Friday, July 12, starting at 3:00 p.m.

For those who wish to witness this historic moment, we suggest finding a vantage point either from the waterfront beach or at a distance on the bluff. While the waterfront beach will be accessible to the public, please be aware that the MARYLAND DOVE dock and the reception at the Margaret Brent Pavilion area are restricted to invited guests only.

The HSMC waterfront dock and MARYLAND DOVE will be reopened to the public following the reception, around 1:30 p.m. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in making this event a memorable occasion for Captain Angela Laaro, retiring Captain Will Gates, and the entire HSMC community.
