Historic St. Mary’s City (HSMC) is an outdoor museum of living history and archaeology on the site of Maryland’s first capital and the home of the current Maryland Dove. Nestled in beautiful tidewater southern Maryland, the museum preserves over 800 acres of land and three miles of shoreline.
Wander the paths to see an example of a Woodland Indian hamlet, a reconstructed tall ship, a mid-1600s style tobacco farm with animals, and a working printing press.
Living history outdoor exhibits at HSMC are open seasonally, from the middle of March through November. There is an admission fee charged in season, with reduced rates for seniors, children, and students.
